Wine, Food, Music & a Beautiful Sunset

Chris & I shared an evening with brother Jeremy & sis-in law Tina recently at Arbor Crest Winery. We packed a yummy picnic and heard live bluegrass music till sunset.

Apple Harvest- September 2008

Early this fall we met up with the Derting family, the Pooleys, & the Youngs for a family activity. On the drive down (about 1 1/2 hrs from CDA), I have to admit, that I was wondering why we were driving so far just to get some apples. But I was soon greatful Terri talked me into it! In Garfield, Washington, a small Eastern Washington town, is a orchard where you bring your own box or bags and hike on up the hill and can pick from the tree your apples. There were several different types spread amongst the property, and it was all a low 25 cents a pound. Precious picture--Ella and Lindy even had small green baskets to fill up on their own-thanks Great Grandma! The central location was perfect to have a special day with the Dertings. The kids, old and young, could even snack while we worked. : )

And to top it off, after picking apples, we had the opportunity to hand press our own cider. Note: if you plan to do this, I advise to bring empty gallon jugs or glass jars to get it home. We pressed three gallons worth and we're now in the process of turning it into Hard Cider, Yum! All and all, a fun day we'll hopefully do again next year.

End of summer days...

Enjoying a beautiful September day together right in our home town on Coeur d'Alene Lake.

We are sooo blessed!
